World Book Day
World Book Day was celebrated on the 5th March. We got very cosy in our pjs and snuggled up with a book!

We love experimenting in our class and throughout the year we have been trying to perfect our slime recipe! It just never quite works out but we enjoy trying! We called on some help from the older girls this time!
We had a great time last year learning lots of new things in Ms Farrell's Class .

Sports for fun and Dancethon
In June we had Sports for Fun day and our sponsored Dancethon. Every day we went to the hall with all our friends from school and showed off our dancing skills. We had great fun learning new dances and songs. On Sports day we took part in the obstacle course, running races and the water race. Our favourite part was all the fun we had playing on the bouncy castles at the end of the day :)

Our Class Trip
This year we went to Tallaght Adventure world. We brought in our booster seats and learned all about road safety and travelling safely in a bus. We made sure we all had our seatbelts on before we set off. When we got there we had fun playing in the ball pool, climbing the climbing walls and going down the big slides. We were then very hungry so had some tasty chips and drinks. We had more time then to play and when it was time to go home we put back on our shoes and got the bus back time. We had a great day!

Easter
We had great fun at Easter time. We made some Easter bonnets and went on an Easter egg hunt in the hall. The farmer delivered some eggs into school and we kept a close eye on the incubator to see the our little chicks hatch. We had to be very quiet and gentle when we were holding them to make sure we didn't scare them.

Pancake Tuesday and Valentines Day.
For pancake Tuesday we made some yummy pancakes in our kitchen. We mixed up all the ingredients and fried them in the frying pan. We then put some very yummy Nutella chocolate spread on them and ate them all up !
For Valentines day we talked about all the people we love and how our families love us very much. We learned about where our heart is in our body and made some lovely hearts to give to our families.

For world book day we read one of our favourite books The Very Hungry Caterpillar! We made caterpillar masks and also invited our friends from Senior infants to share the day with us. We love our new library and cant wait to visit it every week to read lots of interesting books.

Christmas Time !
We had a great time decorating our classroom and putting up our Christmas tree. We went on a great trip to the lighthouse cinema to watch a Muppet's Christmas Carol. We also had a very special visitor in the hall SANTA! We told him what we wanted for Christmas and he gave us all a lovely teddy and some sweets :)
Happy Halloween !
We had a great time celebrating Halloween in School. We made some scary ghosts and witches and had fun scaring our friends around the school. We played Halloween games in the hall and went on a scary witches walk around Tymon Park. We also really enjoyed reading and listening to our favourite Halloween book Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson :)
All Ireland Champions :)
Olwen Carey, defender on the Dublin Gaeilc womens team who are the All Ireland Champions came to visit us and to show us the Brendan Martin Cup. We learned about how hard she had to train to win the All Ireland with her team and we practiced some Gaelic football skills of our own in the hall.

A flying visitor!
We were very lucky to have a visit from a lovely yellow Canary. We learned all about his wings, feathers, beak and claws. We saw the seeds that he eats and made sure to give him clean water to drink. We had to work very quietly when he was in our classroom and we even got to hear him whistle!
Rain Rain Go Away!
We enjoyed looking out at the stormy weather just before Hurricane Ophelia arrived. It was really rainy and windy and we had to hold on tight to our umbrella to make sure it didn't blow away!
Baby Chicks
We were so exciting when the farmer delivered some chicken eggs to our school. Every day we visited the eggs in the incubator and were very lucky to see one hatch while we watched. The baby chicks were different colours , black and brown. We learned all about their shells, their feathers and their beaks. When they got a bit bigger we were able to hold them very gently . We watched them hatch from their eggs into little chicks.
Easter Bonnets
We had great fun designing our Easter bonnets for our Easter parade. Our parents helped us to make our hats at home and we then took part in the Easter Parade. We also an egg -citing egg hunt in the hall !
Sam Maguire came to visit.
We were very lucky to get a visit from Sam Maguire. We learned about where it was made and why it is such an important cup. We hope the Dublin Footballers will be All Ireland champions again this year and we will see Sam again soon !
Pancake Tuesday
We had great fun making yummy pancakes on pancake Tuesday. We mixed the eggs, flour and milk in a big bowl. We then fried the pancakes in the pan. When they were cooked we put yummy chocolate spread on them and ate them all up. They were very tasty !
Hilda's visit
Hilda Came in to visit us. She is a young labradoodle helper dog. She let us pet her gently and she wagged her tail. She was very happy to see us.
Rice Krispie Cakes
We had great fun making chocolate rice krispie cakes. They tasted yummy!
Christmas
- We decorated our classroom for Christmas. We put up our Christmas tree and hung up our decorations. We were very excited waiting on Santa to come.
Halloween
We had great fun celebrating Halloween. We dressed up in our favourite costumes and played Halloween games in the hall. We went on a very scary witches walk to Tymon Park.
Our old friends
We were so happy to see our friends from last year visit our class. We heard all about how well they are doing in secondary school. We had a little party , talked about all of the fun we had together and sang some of our old songs.
We are having fun learning in school.
We are all so happy to be back in School. We are learning lots of new things and having great fun finding out all about each other.
