Hi to all my fifth class students 😀,
I can’t believe we have reached the final week of our school year. What a different time it has been for us all over the last few months . As this is our last week of the term , similar to if we were in school there will be no homework this week . 😀Instead I would ask you to keep working away with the sports week and virtual school tours.
Looking forward to our end of year Zoom Wednesday at 12 . Let’s make this one really special 💃.

Hi once again to all my fifth and sixth class girls and boys,
I hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely weather we have been having 😊. I know a few of you said you did not get the opportunity to do many Science experiments at home last week so I have included the STEM sheet again this week if anyone would like to give it a go. 😊
I have attached the work for this week however I am aware the Maths may be a little challenging for some people, please try your best, have a look at your Planet Maths book the chapter on percentages and if you are really stuck and would like different work instead please just email me and let me know, it is absolutely no problem I can send it on. 😊 Also if anyone would like extra work please just let me know too.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon😊
Jill.

Hi to all my fifth and sixth class boys and girls 😊
I hope you are all well and enjoying the sun. This week I would like to try a different approach to our school work. I realise it may be difficult at times to work from home, if you don't understand a topic or feel the workload is over-whelming. Coming into June this is a month for fun and celebrating all the hard work you have completed this year. 😊
I have attached the suggested work for this week including a week of fun, active Science activities and a booklet to reflect and look back at this school year. Again this work is optional and I don't want anyone feeling under any pressure. The important thing is to be happy and enjoy yourselves each-day.
If anyone would like extra work, Maths , English, Irish or any other subject please just drop me an email and I can forward them onto you.
Jill.😊

Scoil Íosa Work From Home
Ms.Kiernan’s Class
11.05.20 – 15.05.20
Hi guys, thank you for all your great feedback on how you are finding the work at home. One thing I have noted is how popular the project work has become, for this reason the focus this week is on project work. You can complete these on PowerPoint or in your project copy. I have included a list of topics which you can select from at the bottom of the weekly plan however if you would like to pick a topic of your own that is absolutely perfect also. Really looking forward to reading through them . ;)
Our Zoom meeting on Friday will be 6th Class at 11.30am and 5th Class at 12.30pm. Genevieve has kindly offered to create our Kahoot Quiz this week. Thank you Genevieve ;). Remember the theme for Friday's Zoom is crazy hair day. The crazier the better .
Keep up the good-work guys and for each and everyone of us if you are struggling at all with your schoolwork or finding it difficult to motivate yourself at home remember there are two really important things we can do at the home which will be a huge benefit next year ; number 1) Read!Read!Read! and number 2) Practice your tables (Even 5 minutes a day will make a huge difference;)
See you all Friday ;-)

To all the boys and girls in Fifth and Sixth Class, I know and appreciate how difficult this time is for everyone. Remember that all you can do each day is your very best! You should be proud of how you well you are doing, whilst at home. Below you will find the activities planned for your school work this week. Please don’t worry if you cannot complete it all, I know it is difficult especially the Irish. It might be a good idea to follow a schedule or Daily Routine. I understand that it might be challenging to complete everything at home. As teachers, we too are learning during this very different time. We too must remember that all we can do is our best, and not put ourselves under too much pressure.Looking forward to seeing everyone Friday for our Zoom :)

03.04.2020 - Diorama Competition
Dioramas - Congratulations to all 5th and 6th class students for your amazing dioramas . They all look superb. :) Well done guys . It was beyond difficult to pick any winners but with the help of Ms.Farrell and Ms.Carroll the winners from fifth class are Niamh Sheridan and Genevieve Morgan and from sixth class Keelan Roche and Katie Harriman. Well done again to all of fifth and sixth class it was a difficult decision and if we could give everyone a prize we would . Looking forward to the next competition soon .
A very happy Easter to all my fifth and sixth class students and their families :).
my 30th March Update
Hello 5th and 6th class,
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and are looking forward to some fun activities throughout the coming week. :) I have attached some suggestions of activities to complete . Please don’t feel any pressure just try your best and do what you can.
I have been spending the last few weeks down the country with my family and am really missing you all and am dying to hear all your news . If anyone has any questions or would like to send me an email just to say hello I would really love to hear from you. If anyone has any art they would like to share here on our page please email on also and I can post it here or pictures of some yummy baking would be great also. My email addresses are scoiliosafifthclass@gmail.com or scoiliosasixthclass@gmail.com .
I know we are all really sporty and active in our class which is amazing and I hope we are all making an extra effort to keep it up during this time. There are some great body coach P.E. lessons online and lots of different activities we can still do outside too.
Really looking forward to receiving everyone’s diorama entries next Friday, we have some really exciting prizes in store for the winners from each class.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Ms Kiernan :-)

Hi to all my fifth and sixth class students hope you are all doing well and keeping safe during this time.
Over the next few weeks I will be setting tasks and projects for you to do at home to help with the continuation of your learning and to give you something fun to do :).
Starting next Monday there will be a weekly plan of work posted here outlining different pieces of work to be completed daily. I have set up two email addresses scoiliosafifthclass@gmail.com and scoiliosasixthclass@gmail.com feel free to email me anytime if you have any questions regarding the suggested work and also if you could email me on completed work to check over that would be great too.
Hopefully we get back to school soon as I know for me anyway the last term is always an exciting one and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.
Again any questions or if anyone would like extra work over the next few days just send me an email.
Jill Kiernan
